Strengths: Never even had a chance to try this out. Bought one and it was DOA from the store, cxghaneed it for another one and ..you guessed it DOA again. Returning it tomorrow for a different brand. DJ ALZHEIMERS says:This power supply provides super fast and quiet performance at a good price. Energy efficiency isn't a question either. I'm really happy with it, but I'm going to need more wattage if I get a second graphics card in SLI. MAC says:This PSU is solid as a rock. corsairs known quality and performance shines through on all levels and comes at a great price! only thing i would have change is made some of the un-needed connectors detachable. wire management was a bit cluttered even in an antec mid-tower. the switchable tri-color LED fan adds some flare aswell.Editor says: Cadman says:I just bought this and installation was breeze! Very quiet and has provided the power and performance I need with my gaming machine! Highly recommended!! Deezy says:Pros: Even under load, this thing runs quiet. Stable voltages when I tested it it after 4 days of continuous (heavy loaded) use. As usual, this Corsair product exceeded my expectations. Cons: Yet to have a con for this, or any other Corsair PSU I've ever purchased. highlander says:I had a clear PS that looked really cool but sucked wind when I got into my online gaming. This one has power to spare in the most graphic intense applications and runs cooler and much much quieter. The tricolor LED's are OK, but it's the overall quality that really impressed me. You Have RROD says:Pros: Quiet, does what it's supposed to do,solid PSU. Cons: Power cable is annoying as hell, you gotta play around with it a bit so it stays still and dosen't make your PC turn off randomly. The LED color always resets to blue(default)each time i boot my PC so it's pretty useless. Other Thoughts: The Cons section may be bigger than the Pros section but this is still a great PSU.The only thing is that it's not modular but it shouldn't be much of a problem if you have a big case.Remove an egg because of the aforemented power cable problem. styles says:Pros: This PSU is absolutely solid all around. no complaints with the hardware at all. Shipping was fast. I RMA'd a dead motherboard back to newegg and reordered another along with this PSU. big thanks to newegg for giving me a discounted over night delivery for both items. two thumbs up . Cons: wished it was modular but then agian my haf x nvidia edition full tower worked out great for cable manegment . Other Thoughts: big thanks newegg, u've gained a customer for life. I spent a grand total of 1850.00 on this new build and wished i bought my monitor with you too!!!!!!! Alexandru says:Pros: What ever i put in he runs it. 2x Nvidia 460 quad gpu SLI runs this with no problem, you can see the performance of the +12 rail once your card/s becomes resource hungry.Out of the boots worked.Wiring is crazy, so many wires, looks like an alien lives in there. Cons: Non Other Thoughts: You can change LED's to what ever color WHITE/BLUE/RED at any time via a button on the back of the PSU thirdcrash says:Pros: corsair is awesome and they make reliable gear that doesn't tear a hole in my pocket. great power supply I haven't owned it long so weather or not it lasts we will see but its corsair so I'm not too worried. Cons: only problem I have had is the 8pin CPU power connector isn't long enough to go into the back of my case and behind the motherboard and reach the connector at the top of my ASUS Motherboard so if your planning on making your case look really nice and clean and your going to route your cables in the back I would suggest picking up an 8pin 12v extension just in case. Other Thoughts: in my book you can't go wrong with corsair this PSU will most likely last the entirety of my new builds life. remember that 12v extension depending on your rig, don't say I didn't warn ya. King_Nothing says:Pros: Great quality build. This model is built by CWT and sold through Corsair. It is on the lower end of CWT builds but that's like saying a cheap Porsche. This is actually underrated to get the 80+ certification. It has been tested above 1000W. Cons: I wish the wires themselves were black like the AX series. N/A says:Pros: Quiet.Underrated.Plenty of connections.LED fan with selectable color that can also be turned off.I like the fact that all four PCIe power connectors are 6+2 pin for maximum versatility when selecting/installing video cards. If you need more than four 8 pins you are probably going to need more power than this unit provides. Cons: I have to use an extension cable for the 8 pin CPU connector in a bottom mount PSU, full tower case. Other than that all cables are of sufficient to more than enough length. Other Thoughts: This unit is actually capable of providing up to 1000 watts of power although you do give up the 80+ efficiency when going over 800 watts. I bought one for my computer and one for a family member at BB for $97.00 each during a Christmas sale. thesecretblack says:Pros: This PSU is so quiet that I have to double check to make sure that it's on. The LEDs aren't too bright. They provide a delicate glow, and the color is selectable between red, white, and blue (you can also turn them off! +!). There are 4 6/8 pin PCI-E outlets, one 8-pin CPU that you can split into 4-pin, and a ton of molex sata plugs. Everything is sheathed so it looks somewhat contained. The logo on the side of the unit is a nice touch. Cons: WIRES! I knew this wasn't a modular PSU, but good lord what am I going to do with these wires? They're very thick and there are TONS of them everywhere. If you have a mid-sized case, you will have to be very creative in stashing them away. Even with all of the extras bundled with zip ties, I still have a problem getting them all to fit without hitting any fans. Other Thoughts: I'm not deducting a point over the wires, because I knew what I was getting into, but it's still pretty difficult to deal with. As far as performance goes, this is powering 2 ATI 6950 cards as well as 7 case fans and a 6 core cpu, and it's doing just fine. I bought this because it was listed as one of the few reasonably priced PSUs that can power my video cards without problems, and it certainly hasn't let me down. Wes123 says:Not modular but i knew that. Wires a plenty long enough. You can easily tuck away what you do not need. Voltage readings are perfect. Going on 1 month and all is fineTrackbacks & Pingbacks: Archived EntryPost Date :Tuesday, Dec 20th, 2011 at 2:43 pmCategory : and and Tags :, Do More :Both reviews and pings are currently closed.Friends of Best Deals on PC Power Suppliesis powered by and delivered to you in 0.253 seconds using 34 queries.Theme: by .
